Addiction by Ayako Aurora Reflection Eyeshadows

Belated swatches of all the shadows released in the Autumn 2011 collection, none of which I could resist after seeing them in real life. Hopefully you'll be able to see why...

Each eyeshadow retails for ¥2100, none of these shades are limited edition.

An experiment: I'm not experienced in or skilled at taking photographs but inspired by Dain's recent post, and the fact that these are just that pretty in the pan, some product shots.

Horizon (P) dusty mauve with pale blue, gold and silver glitter

Poetic (P) mint green with white and blue iridescence

Deep Forest (P) forest green/teal duochrome with emerald green shimmer

Blue Moon (P) bright cornflower blue with lighter blue and silver shimmer

Pink Python (P) blackened green with lime, pink and blue shimmer

Ice Storm (P) icy blue with iridescent white and blue glitter

Silent Scream (P) vivid grass green with yellow-gold and pink shimmer

Some notes, because what are pictures without ALL TEH WORDS? Poetic and Ice Storm are much sheerer than the others, and make pretty transparent veils alone or to add complexity patted over a more pigmented shadow (or cream base, or pencil).
Horizon and Ice Storm feature the largest shimmer particles, but they don't feel gritty or look unrefined at all. Ice Storm in particular, applies like a 'flakie' nail polish. I experience a little fallout with Horizon, but none of the others in this collection.

  2. Many thanks for the swatches. Now I am sitting here drooling over your pics and putting together an Addiction order in my head instead of working. :D A few of these babies will definitely end up in my collection... eventually.

  3. I'm going to start a Deep Forest cheerleading club. We won't be very good because we'll pretty much just dribble and go 'oooooooooh', but I think we'll get our point across.

  5. Claire: you definitely could -- it's so lovely for a 'pop' of colour (*gag*). Goes beautifully with taupey neutrals!

Elizabeth: I'm envisaging a slightly more kempt version of the quivering brethren?

Musing on Beauty: BLUES. that is all.
